Silvia

July 28, 1998

Silvia and her older sister Waldina, first joined the family of Hogar Emanuel on a temporary basis after being rescued from an abusive father. The girls are now well-adjusted and happy living here. Their mother continues to visit regularly and brings the girls their favorite grape ice cream.

Silvia is currently in the sixth grade at Sinai where she tries very hard even though she struggles with a learning disability. Next year she will attend a special school that will better meet her educational needs. She is a very sweet and well- behaved little girl who is one of the first to greet visitors with a big hug. She always looks out for her sister who is wheel-chair bound from multiple sclerosis.

Her favorite part of Hogar Emanuel is spending time with the babies in the nursery. She also likes jumping rope and drawing. Her favorite food is pizza and is a fan of the Twilight movie series. She says she wants to be an educator in a children’s home like Hogar Emanuel when she grows up.
